Workshop Details
Learning to use a knife responsibly is an important step in developing outdoor skills and personal responsibility. When taught properly, carving can be a safe, rewarding activity that builds patience, craftsmanship, and confidence.
In this hands-on workshop, students will receive careful instruction in knife safety and proper carving techniques before beginning their own projects. Participants will learn how to handle and carry a knife responsibly, practice safe carving positions, and understand the basic principles that prevent common injuries.
Once these safety foundations are established, students will begin carving simple projects while learning techniques for shaping wood with control and precision. Throughout the class, instructors will guide students step by step while reinforcing good habits that allow knives to be used safely and effectively.
By the end of the workshop, students will have completed a small carving project of their own and will leave with the knowledge and confidence needed to continue practicing safe knifecraft at home.
