Enrichment Programs
At Cedarwood Outdoor School, our enrichment programs are designed to grow with your child. Each stage reflects both natural growth and spiritual development, grounded in the biblical call to grow in wisdom and stewardship.
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith” (Colossians 2:6-7)
Partnering with Homeschool Families
Our Enrichment Programs are designed to cultivate a deep love for outdoor learning and a growing relationship with Christ. Meeting once a week, these programs are offered in both spring and fall sessions and are especially well-suited for homeschooling families.
Rooted in the four foundational pillars of Cedarwood—wilderness survival, homesteading, herbalism, and creation (naturalist) studies—each session equips students with real-world skills through immersive, outdoor-based instruction.
Through hands-on activities like firecraft, natural medicine-making, gardening, and wildlife tracking, students stay physically active and mentally engaged in ways traditional classroom settings often cannot match. Every subject is brought to life through movement, experimentation, and direct interaction with the natural world—fostering knowledge that sticks for a lifetime.
But it’s not just about skills. Our Enrichment Programs are deeply Christ-centered. Students will engage in journaling, prayer, and Scripture study, learning to think biblically about God’s creation and their role in it. Whether studying edible plants or building a shelter, students are invited to explore how faith connects with every facet of life outdoors.
In short, the Cedarwood Enrichment Program is our version of Christian forest school—where biblical formation meets wild wonder.

The Cedarwood Philosophy: Growth with Purpose
From Sprig to Pioneer to Ranger, each stage builds upon the last. We are forming a progression of knowledge, capability, and godliness. Our goal is to teach wilderness skills and to cultivate character. By the time students complete the program, they have grown from curious observers into confident leaders who understand how to work wisely and responsibly within God’s creation.
*Please note: Participation does not require beginning at the first stage; students may enter the program at any point.
