Supporting Our Mission

Cedarwood Outdoor School exists to help students develop a deeper understanding of the natural world and a lasting appreciation for God through careful observation, hands-on learning, and time spent outdoors. If you would like to learn more about our mission, philosophy, and convictions, we invite you to visit our Who We Are and Doctrinal Statement pages.

As Cedarwood grows, so does the opportunity to equip students with the tools, experiences, and instruction that make meaningful outdoor education possible. Field guides, binoculars, navigation tools, and other educational resources allow students to engage more deeply with what they are learning and to practice the skills they are being taught in real environments.

If you share our desire to see young people grow in knowledge, confidence, and appreciation for the outdoors, we invite you to consider supporting the work of Cedarwood Outdoor School. Your support helps expand educational opportunities, strengthen our programs, and place high-quality learning tools directly into the hands of students.

*Note: Cedarwood Outdoor School is organized as a for-profit LLC. Contributions and equipment purchases made in support of the school are considered voluntary gifts and are not tax-deductible charitable donations.

Ways to Support

1. Equip Our Students

Hands-on learning is central to the Cedarwood Outdoor School experience. Many of our programs rely on practical field tools that allow students to observe, explore, and practice the skills they are learning in real environments.

Those who wish to support Cedarwood in a tangible way have two options. Supporters may contribute directly through the equipment fund above, or they may choose to purchase specific items from our current equipment list.

The equipment list includes tools such as field guides, binoculars, navigation equipment, and other educational resources that are used directly in classes and outdoor activities. These items help strengthen both the quality of instruction and the overall student experience. Each item on the list includes a priority level and the quantity currently needed.

You can view the current equipment list here:

Items purchased through the list are shipped directly to Cedarwood Outdoor School and are used in classes and outdoor programs.

2. Sponsor Student Scholarships

Cedarwood Outdoor School seeks to make meaningful outdoor education accessible to a wide range of students and families. Scholarship support helps ensure that financial limitations do not prevent a student from participating in our programs.

Because program costs vary depending on the course or program, scholarship funds are applied where they are most needed.

Support in this area may help provide:

  • Partial or full program tuition assistance for students

  • Access to educational materials and field tools used during class

  • Opportunities for students to participate in special workshops or field experiences

Individuals who wish to help expand access to Cedarwood Outdoor School programs are welcome to contribute toward the student scholarship fund.

3. Future Vision & Major Needs

As Cedarwood Outdoor School continues to grow, we anticipate future needs that will help expand the reach and effectiveness of our programs. Support in this area helps strengthen the long-term foundation of the school and allows us to develop resources that benefit students for years to come.

Examples of future needs may include:

  • A dedicated program vehicle to transport equipment and support field-based instruction

  • Development of a permanent outdoor classroom or teaching pavilion

  • Improvements and additions to future Cedarwood property

  • Expanded instructional equipment and storage

  • Infrastructure that supports larger classes, workshops, and family events

Financial support helps provide equipment, expand educational opportunities, and support the ongoing development of Cedarwood’s programs.
